1.Information We Access
Niwa Day currently supports Google Calendar as its calendar data source. Support for additional calendar services may be added in the future; if so, this policy will be updated accordingly.
To access your Google Calendar, Niwa Day requests the following OAuth 2.0 scope:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.readonly— Read-only access to your Google Calendar events.
This scope allows Niwa Day to retrieve the list of calendar events scheduled for the current day. Niwa Day requests only the minimum permissions necessary to provide its core functionality, and cannot create, modify, or delete any events.
2.How We Use Your Data
Calendar data retrieved from the Google Calendar API is used exclusively for the following purpose:
- Rendering a timeline of today's events in the Niwa Day desktop overlay window.
All data processing occurs locally on your device. Event data is fetched in real time, displayed immediately, and is never written to disk, cached persistently, or transmitted over the network to any server operated by Niwa Day or any third party.
Niwa Day does not collect any usage analytics, telemetry, crash reports, or device identifiers. The Application does not communicate with any servers operated by Niwa Day — the only outbound network connection is to Google's official Calendar API for fetching your events.
3.Data Storage
Niwa Day does not:
- Store your calendar events in any database, file, or cloud service.
- Log or record event titles, descriptions, attendees, or any other event metadata.
OAuth tokens are stored securely in the Windows Credential Manager — the operating system's built-in secure credential storage — to maintain your login across app restarts. Tokens are retained until you explicitly sign out or revoke access, and are never transmitted externally except to the calendar service's own API endpoints (e.g., Google's servers).
4.Data Sharing
Niwa Day does not share, sell, rent, or disclose your calendar data to any third party, including advertisers, analytics providers, or other services. Your data is used solely for displaying your schedule on your local device.
5.Google API Services
Niwa Day's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically:
- Google user data is used only to provide or improve the user-facing features of Niwa Day.
- Google user data is not transferred to third parties except as necessary to provide or improve the app's features.
- Google user data is not used or transferred for serving advertisements.
- Google user data is not used or transferred for determining creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
- A human will not read Google user data unless (a) the user has given affirmative consent, (b) it is necessary for security purposes (e.g., investigating abuse), or (c) it is required to comply with applicable law.
6.Authentication & Security
Niwa Day uses the official OAuth 2.0 authorization flow provided by Google. Your account credentials (username and password) are never seen or stored by Niwa Day. Authentication is handled entirely by Google's secure login pages. OAuth tokens are stored locally in the Windows Credential Manager and are used only to make authorized API requests on your behalf.
7.Children's Privacy
Niwa Day is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8.Data Deletion & Your Rights
Since Niwa Day does not store your calendar data on any server, there is no cloud data to delete. To remove all Niwa Day-related data from your device:
- Sign out from within the application, which clears all locally stored OAuth tokens.
- Revoke Niwa Day's access via your Google Account Permissions page.
- Uninstall Niwa Day from your device.

9.Users in the European Union & California
If you are located in the European Union, you have certain rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the rights to access, rectify, or erase your personal data. If you are a California resident, you have similar rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Because Niwa Day does not store any of your data on external servers and does not collect any analytics, telemetry, or device identifiers (see Section 2), there is no data on our end to access, modify, or delete. To exercise your rights regarding the calendar data accessed via Google's API, please use Google's own data management tools at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.

10.Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including to reflect new calendar service integrations or changes in data handling. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Niwa Day after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
